Fine print that actually matters

From the Plan Terms & Conditions section (pages 5–6):

  • New lines at Lycamobile.com only and auto-renew enrollment required to keep the discounted price for the stated promo period.
  • After you use the 40GB high-speed allotment, speeds are reduced for the rest of the 30-day cycle; congestion can also slow data.
  • Unlimited international calls apply to the first 10 dialed numbers per country.
  • Exclusions: Morocco IAM & Wana and Israel prefixes 97256, 97259 are not part of the unlimited bucket.
  • U.S. usage only (includes 50 states and Puerto Rico). Roaming/international destinations not listed require extra credit.
  • Regulatory recovery fee of 5% applies to website purchases.
  • Non-commercial, personal use; service may be suspended/terminated for policy violations. SIM/number expire after 60 days of non-use.
  • Requires a GSM-compatible 5G/4G LTE phone. Plans/rates can change.

International calling: where you can call

The plan page includes a country picker (pages 3–5) that shows the destinations included in the unlimited list. Examples shown on the page:

  • Africa: Algeria, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland.
  • Asia: Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Israel, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey.
  • Oceania: American Samoa, Australia, Guam, New Zealand.
  • Europe: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and many more (including smaller territories like Åland Islands, Gibraltar, San Marino).
  • Americas (examples shown across the tabs): Canada, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.

The tab bar above the country list also mentions “150 free bonus international minutes” and “1300 free bonus international minutes” groups—these appear as additional buckets for specific destinations. Always check the live country list for your personal must-call numbers (and remember the exclusions noted above).

Strengths

  • Aggressive intro pricing ($20 for 6 months with auto-renew) lowers the barrier to try the service.
  • Generous high-speed data (40GB) before throttle—plenty for streaming, maps, and social.
  • 10GB hotspot included (clearly stated on the plan card).
  • International calling baked in to 100 countries, with bonus minute groups for some destinations.
  • Instant eSIM makes same-day switching easy.

Watch-outs

  • The $20 price is promotional and time-limited; after the stated promo renewals, it reverts to the standard $49 unless there’s a new offer.
  • Unlimited calling has rules: only the first 10 dialed numbers per country qualify, and certain Moroccan/Israeli prefixes are excluded.
  • Reduced speeds after 40GB may impact video or hotspot performance near the end of the cycle.
  • 5% regulatory recovery fee applies at checkout; plus, features not listed (e.g., roaming) require extra credit.

Who this plan is perfect for

  • Frequent international callers who need everyday U.S. service plus built-in minutes to common destinations.
  • Heavy data users who still want a budget price—40GB fast is a lot for most people.
  • Hotspot users who need a clear, included 10GB.
  • Anyone who wants a frictionless start via eSIM and is okay with a prepaid, month-to-month setup.

The bottom line

For a limited time, Lyca’s Unlimited Plus packs 40GB of fast data, 10GB hotspot, and international calling to 100 countries into a $20/30-day starter price (with auto-renew) that’s hard to beat. If those ingredients match your needs and you’re fine with prepaid terms and the post-cap slowdown, this is one of the strongest “try-it-now” values on Lyca’s roster.
